Sterling silver bat necklace on a 20" chain with swivel clasp. I have oxidized the bat and chain for a lustrous black patina. Over time skin oils will continue to brighten the black color for a beautiful effect.
This necklace was inspired by the unusual sensitivity of bats and the fascinating way they navigate the world, mainly through sonar. They see sound waves as shapes?! That amazes me. In my awe I carved this tiny, very realistic small sculptural pendant of a South American fruit bat, referring to many sources to be sure I got it right. It is about 1.75″×.75″×1.″
